Dr. Sherwood Miler

Dr. Miler, is a proud native of the lowcountry, who embodies a deep-rooted commitment to exceptional orthodontic care. However, growing up in a large family in South Carolina, he cultivated a passion for caring and helping people at an early age.

Education

First, his academic journey commenced at the College of Charleston, where he distinguished himself by graduating in the top 4% with highest honors in biology. Furthermore, Dr. Miler’s pursuit of excellence continued at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine, where he earned his doctorate in dentistry. Plus, his exceptional aptitude in clinical dentistry garnered multiple awards, culminating in the prestigious United States Navy Health Professions Scholarship.

His Service

Embracing a call to serve, Dr. Miler dedicated four impactful years as a Lieutenant and active duty general dentist in the Navy, stationed at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. However, his unwavering dedication and outstanding performance led to his selection for an extensive three-year Orthodontic specialty residency at the Georgia School of Orthodontics in Atlanta. During his residency, Dr. Miler augmented his expertise with an additional fellowship in clear aligner therapy. Plus, in his final year in Georgia, he served as a doctor at a private practice orthodontic office, delivering quality and efficient care to the local community.

However, with a steadfast commitment to his community, Dr. Miler established his private practices in Beaufort (Miler Orthodontics) and Bluffton (Bluffton Orthodontics), bringing premier orthodontic care to the lowcountry.

Furthermore, as a specialist in orthodontics, Dr. Miler offers comprehensive services tailored to patients of all ages, including early interceptive, adolescent, and adult orthodontic treatments, encompassing both traditional braces and clear aligners.
