What Is the best age to visit an orthodontist?
What will happen on the first visit?
Your initial visit/complimentary consultation will consist of a full oral examination and assessment of possible orthodontic issues and treatment options. We may also perform diagnostic tests such as x-rays and digital images that will help us determine your best course of treatment. During this first visit, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment:
How long will it take to complete treatment?
Since every case is unique and each person’s orthodontic problem requires an individualized plan, the treatment time will vary. In general, treatment time is usually anywhere from 8 months to 30 months, with the average time that someone is in braces usually at approximately 18-24 months.
How often will I have to come in for appointments?
Your appointment schedule will vary depending on your course of treatment and your specific needs. Typically, most patients in braces come into the office for appointments and/or adjustments every 4 to 8 weeks.
How much do braces cost? Are there financing options available?
Since everyone’s case is different, treatment costs vary for each patient. At your consultation, we’ll provide you with an overview of what you can expect in terms of cost for your particular case, and will discuss payment options with you. We’re committed to making braces affordable for our patients and their families, and have a number of flexible payment plans available, including no interest credit and monthly payment plans. Our office staff will work closely with you to find the payment plan that best meets your needs, and will help you with any issues or questions throughout your treatment.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! At Miler Orthodontics we file all insurances. We will verify your insurance prior to your first appointment to factor it into your treatment cost.
Is there an age that is “too old” for braces?
A person is never too old to start their journey to a healthier, more beautiful smile. We treat people of all ages, including adults, and there are a number of different treatment options that make wearing braces when you are older simpler than ever.
